The Questions:

Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Below.  (+5)  (The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes.  (+5)

Review: 41566 Mixel Sharx

I'm going to finish out the week with the Pyrratz tribe.

Bag.  MSRP is $4.99.  Which gives us a $0.09 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts.  Plenty of Female Ball Joint Plates but only one of each Male.  Odd.  Tooth Plates, Flange Plates, Plates, one Clip Plate, Slopes, Vehicle Mudguards, and Bricks w/Studs on the side are all useful.  The Minifig Barrel doesn't seem that great though.

Review: 41563 Mixels Splasho

Let's move on to the "MCFD" tribe today.

Bag.  MSRP is $4.99.  Which gives us a $0.07 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts.  Quite a selection.  Plates, Slopes, Tiles, Bar Plates, Clip Plates, new Headlight Bricks, Brackets, Round Bricks, only a few Ball Joints though.  A Minifig Flower Pot and Vehicle Mudguard Bricks are the real standouts to me.

Build.  Frame & Station.

Review: 41569 Mixels Surgeo

I'm starting with the Medicos. because I want to use the parts from this set.

Bag.  MSRP is $4.99.  Which gives us a $0.08 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts.  A fair amount of Plates, a decent selection of Ball Joints, new Headlight Bricks, and Slopes.  There's also a Radar Dish, some Technic Bricks, and Bar and Clip Plates that are useful.  The one weird inclusion is the 1x3x1 Door.  Of course, I'm drooling over the Dark Bley Minifig Bananas.

Build.  Frame and a Station.

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)

Score: +20 (A+).  It's a Mixel set, should we be surprised at this point?

Micro Mecha 3

I'm feeling lazy on a Friday, so let's finish the week out with a pic post.

Microframes Group by thomastamblyn.  A nice group shot.

great character in these builds.

Light Assault Mini-Mech by HammithATF.  Most of the micro
mecha I post are bipeds, I'm trying to switch it up with this one.

Mini Power Suits by KNight.  These are a copy of
another design by Sage the 13th with a bit of tweaking.

Legosaurus Showdown by thomastamblyn.
These are both fantastic.

Thoughts & Observations:
  • I really have to remember to get all the Rulers cleared off before I start taking the first pictures.
  • We managed to use Single Shot Rockets for this game.
  • Even  though I didn't fire any at all.
  • Somewhere during Turn 2 one of A Team's frames got destroyed but I didn't write it down.
  • There was a lot of Station Dancing this game.
  • If you can't tell, the felt got moved around a little as people kept bumping Frames that were on the edge of the table and knocking them over.
  • I did a bit better this game, I think I needed more Spotting capability though.
  • The game came down to the final actions of the last turn.
