Review: 75129 Star Wars Microfighter Series 3 Wookie Gunship

Activating the Wayback Machine and digging into my backlog for today's review.

Box.  MSRP is $9.99 for a $0.12 Price per Piece

Instructions.

Minifig.

Parts 1.  Plenty of Tan.  Grille Tiles, Slopes,
Hinge Plates, Pin Hole Plates, Bar Plates,
Bar Holder Claws, Plates, Jumpers, Tiles,
Flick Missiles, Cones, and a Clip Plate.

Parts 2.  Plates, Wedge Plates, Brackets, Axle Plates, Hemisphere Bricks, Truncated Cones, Slopes, Axles, a Bar Tile, a Tail, a Bar Plate, and a Flag.  One of the Wedge Plates is damaged.  The box this came in -- which is not the one in the picture -- was really banged up but I didn't anticipate something like this.

Build.  Frame (2Rd+d8/2B or 2Y).

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Above.  (-10)
(The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +5 (B+).  I like it.  The price could be a tad better though.

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Above.  (-10)  (The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)

Micro Mecha 5

I'm still feeling lazy,  so it's time for another look at the smaller end of the scale.

Tiny Arty by countable_nouns.  The thumbnail
makes this look a lot bigger than it really is.

Microframes Front by markwisski.  These look really neat.
Microscale MS-09 Dom by umamen.  Seriously cute.

Dinobots WiP by grantmasters.  These look great.

Only four today.  Enjoy!

Random Starships 6

How about some neat starships for a lazy Monday morning?

a cool starship.  And of course there's no download available.

Microscale Spaceship # 2 by The BrickGuy.
Frigate size, nice composition and color.

of the Millenium Falcon that's IO Frigate sized.

SSV Normandy SR-2 by pretraumatic.  This looks really slick.
It's a stud or two over the size limit for Cruisers though.

Mobile Defence Group by TenorPenny.  It seems like -- when
it comes to spaceships -- I'm always coming back to this guy.

Bulk Smash

One of the locations of Bricks & Minifigs -- the Southington, Connecticut one to be specific -- is running an event on Sunday (7/8/18).  This event is called a "Bulk Smash" and part of the profits are going to charity.  It starts at 6 pm and you have to pre-register.  The phone number is 1-860-385-1007.  The address is 1173 Queen St., Southington, Connecticut 06489.  Here are some specifics from the e-mail I received.

"For those of you who may not know, our BAM family member Amber was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She is thankfully going to make a full recovery but will be out of work for a month or more. To show our support we are offer a portion of the proceeds for the bulk smash sales to Amber. 100% of the profits from any additional buckets that are purchased the night of the event will go directly to Amber. We hope you can make it!

What is bulk smash you ask?
Bulk Smash is an exclusive after hours event jam packed with giant tubs of loose Lego pieces for you to pick through.
-pre registration is required
-$30 gets you a bucket to fill with $40 worth of bulk, access to tubs that have never been sorted through, and refreshments
***Every person who comes through the door must purchase a bucket. If you are planning to bring children plan accordingly***
"

Company website is here.

I'm planning on attending, so I hope to see you there.
