This is a blog dedicated to the game Mobile Frame Zero, a Lego-based, tabletop wargame.

Mechatonic: a Return?
Malcolm Craig has begun posting again at the Mechatonic blog. This can only be a good thing. :-)

Still Alive
I'm posting just to let people know I'm still alive. My creativity is still stifled at the moment. Hopefully it'll return sometime soon. Looking at my sidebar blog list, I'm not the only one that feels this way.

Idea: The Five Deadly Venoms
Yeah, you read that right, the idea is to design a unit around the Five Deadly Venoms of kung fu movie fame.
For the in-game fiction, the Venoms will be the elite attack squad of "The Hive". They are as follows: Centipede, Snake, Scorpion, Lizard and Toad.Since all of the named "animals" are pretty quick, or have an interesting form of locomotion, all the builds will feature Movement attachments. Since they are also fairly maneuverable, they get a Defensive attachment as well.
Here's what I have so far.
Snake:

I'll have to make a new design for this idea.
Centipede:

I'll have to make a new design for this one too. It'll probably be a modified "Scorpion Crawler".
Scorpion:

This will be the "Scorpion Crawler" mech from the "Hive 1" picture in my Flickr stream.
Lizard:

This will be the "Scout Crawler" mech from the "Hive 1" picture in my Flickr stream.
Toad:

This will be a modified "Flea" mech from the "Hive 2" picture in my Flickr stream.
Snake and Scorpion get 2d6+1d8Rh because of the poison they both are known for. Lizard gets 2d6Rd because I'm kind of styling it after a chameleon, and it's Defensive attachment will be a "chameleon coating". It also gets 1d6Y for the ability to get outside the battle and observe. The Toad gets 2d6Rd for its "croak" -- some sort of sonic weapon, I'm thinking -- and a second d6B for extra armor. The Centipede seems fairly straightforward to me.

Burn Out
I think I'm a little burnt out on MFZ. Not playing, just thinking about it. I find it hard to generate any enthusiasm when it comes to blog posts and my creativity seems to be on the wane.
Hopefully the completed book will be out soon and it will give me the jump start I need.

Spotlight: Kyanos Moros
He starts out with a Chub mod.
Then quickly builds a neat frame of his own.
Then he starts building a group of his own frames combined with Chub mods.
After that he tries a few of Malcom Craig's designs on for size.
He shifts to a frame based on some of Zizy's work.
Then makes a detour to creat a frame after an offhand remark by me on the MFZ IRC channel.
And then something different.
And yet something else completely different.
The dude just keeps getting better.

Tablescrap...
...Or is it something more?

This has been sitting on my coffee table for a while. It started out as part of a spaceship, but that got dismantled pretty quickly. I want to try to figure out how to hide some sort of weaponry inside the "petals".
I figure this is a decent way of sharing things that may be half built, rather than posting to, then deleting, things from Flickr.
Toys'n'Bricks discussion thread.
