Review: 30560 Dots Pineapple Photo Holder & Mini Board Polybag

This is one of the old 2022 polybags.  I found this in a local "Playnow" toy store.  I've been trying to finish this review for months now but other reviews kept popping up or other ideas proved more interesting, so let's get this into the "Done" pile.

Bag.
I paid $6.99 at "Playnow", for a $0.06 Price per Piece.
MSRP is unknown as it was a giveaway in March of 2022.

Instructions.

Parts 1.  Plates, Half Oval Plates, Quarter Circle Plates, Brackets, Wedge
Plate, Paper Holder Brick, Quarter Circle Tiles, 5x6 Swordleaves, and Tiles.

Parts 2.  Round Tiles, Tiles, Quarter Circle Tiles, and Plate w/Arm Up.

 Build.  IO Frigates and HVA.

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Below.  (+5)
(The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +20 (A+).  Honestly, this feels like more of a parts pack than a starter pack.  Still full of useful bits though and it's nice to see the older Brackets again along with my favorite part.

Review: 41803 Extra Dots 8

Let's do something simple for a Friday.  I purchased this at my local Lego store.  This is part of the eighth Series of the Dots line.

Bag.  I paid
 $3.99 for a $0.04 Price per Piece.

Parts.
First row is Printed Tiles. Second through seventh is Quarter Circle Tiles
(Black, Pink, and Medium Azure).  Eight and nine are a Pink over-molded Star
Round Tile.  Ten and eleven are Trans-Purple Round Tiles. Twelfth is Trans-
Clear Sparkle Round Tiles.  Thirteenth is Pearlescent Gemstones.  Fourteen
and Fifteen are Translucent Mother-of-Pearl(?) Quarter Circle Tiles.

Build.  None, as these are all accent parts.

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  No. (-5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Below. (+5) (The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes. (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes. (+5)
Score: +10 (A-).  This feels like a throwback to Series 1 and Series 3 with some of the contents of this set.  It's similar to Series 6 in terms of number of different pieces.

Review: 41958 Extra Dots 7

Let's do something simple for a Friday.  I purchased this at my local Lego store.  This is part of the seventh Series of the Dots line.

Bag.  I paid
 $3.99 for a $0.03 Price per Piece.

Parts.  Printed Tiles, Light Aqua Round Tiles, Bright Yellow Round Tiles, Transparent Blue Round Tiles, Light Bley Quarter Circle Tiles, Coral Quarter Circle Tiles, Teal Quarter Circle Tiles, and Dark Blue Quarter Circle Tiles

So I think that Series 4 Extra Dots was the high point in terms of diversity of parts/colors for Extra Dots sets but I like the colors available in this one, especially as I need more Translucent Blue Round Tiles.

Review: 41946 Extra Dots 6

I purchased this at my local Lego store.  This is part of the sixth Series of the Dots line.

Bag.  I paid
 $3.99 for a $0.03 Price per Piece.

Parts.  Printed Round Tiles, Yellowish Green Round Tiles, Hot Pink Round
Tiles, Transparent Neon Yellow Quarter Tiles, Blue Quarter Tiles, Lilac Quarter
Tiles, Round Tiles w/Bar, Lightning Bolt Charms, and Heart Charms.

Again, not as wide a part selection as Series 4 Extra Dots.  This set is going to be interesting due to the Round Bar Tile and Charms.

I purchased this at my local Lego store.  This is part of the fifth Series of the Dots line.

Bag.  I paid
 $3.99 for a $0.03 Price per Piece.

Parts.  Printed Round Tiles, Glow-in-the-Dark Round Tiles,
Magenta Round Tiles, Yellow Quarter Tile, Medium Azure Quarter

Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Below. (+5) (The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes. (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes. (+5)
Score: +10 (A-).  While not as wide a part selection as Series 4 Extra Dots, this one is still going to be popular due to the Glow-in-the-Dark Round Tiles.

Review: 41930 Dots Panda Bag Tag

I bought this at my local Lego store.  I'd been checking my local Targets and Walmarts for a few weeks for these.

Box.  I paid
 $6.99 for a $0.08 Price per Piece.

Instructions.  Oddly enough, these are folded in rather than out.
Which is different from every other set of instructions I've seen.

Parts 1.  "The Cube".

Parts 2. Clip Ring, Heart Key, Jumper, Double Curved Slopes, Printed
Stadium Tiles, Printed Round Tiles, Printed Tiles, White Stadium Tiles,
Black Tiles, Magenta Round Tiles, Black Stadium Tiles, Pink Round
Tiles, Black Round Tiles, White Tiles, Black Quarter Circle Tiles,
Bright Green Quarter Circle Tiles, Greenish Yellow Quarter Circle
Tiles, Lime Quarter Circle Tiles, and White Quarter Circle Tiles.

Build 1.  The same build as the last review but it doesn't work as well.

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Below.  (+5) (The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +20 (A+).  I'd say it's more like a +15 (A) score but for some reason I like the parts selection on this one better than the Dog Bag Tag.

Review: 41927 Dots Dog Bag Tag

I bought this at my local Lego store.  I'd been checking my local Targets and Walmarts for a few weeks for these.

Box.  I paid
 $6.99 for a $0.08 Price per Piece.

Instructions.  Oddly enough, these are folded in rather than out.
Which is different from every other set of instructions I've seen.

Parts 1.  "The Cube".

Parts 2.  Clip Ring, Heart Key, Jumper, Poop Tiles,  Double Curved
Slopes, Printed Tiles, Printed Stadium Tiles, Stadium Tiles, Printed
Round Tiles, Cheese Slopes, Round Tiles, and Quarter Round Tiles,

Build 1.  Station.  The key piece is held in by friction and isn't really that solid a connection.

Build 2.  I put together a bunch of parts before I bought this set in
anticipation of making this Frame.  Unfortunately the color of the
cube is closer to Light Nougat than the Nougat of the other pieces.

A little bit of effort and the score jumps.  :-)

Review: 41931 Extra Dots Series 4 Polybag

Parts.  Printed Round Tiles, Printed Stadium Tiles, White & Medium Azure
Double Curved Slopes, Aqua Round Tiles, Pink Stadium Tiles, Tan &
Orange Double Curved Slopes, Cheese Slopes, Teal Quarter Circle Tiles,
Orange Round Tiles, Light Yellow Round Tiles, Green Tiles, Bright Light
Orange Stadium Tiles, Medium Azure Quarter Circle Tiles, and Red Tiles.

I think this might be the most interesting of the Extra Dots yet.

Review: 41928 Dots Narwhal Bag Tag

I bought this at my local Lego store.  I'd been checking my local Targets and Walmarts for a few weeks for these.

Box.  I paid $6.99 for a $0.08 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts 1. I'm not sure what Lego is calling this piece.  Back in the day I put together a MFZ squad called the "Cube Crew".  They were all based around the die used in the old Lego Games line.  I'm hoping the core piece from these sets can be just as useful.

Parts 2.  Clip Ring, Heart Key, Stadium Tiles, Poop Tile,
Printed Stadium Tiles, Printed Round Tiles, Jumper,
Double Curved Slope, Tiles, Opalescent Round Tiles,
Printed Round Transparent Tiles, and Quarter Circle Tiles.

Build. Nada.  Maybe I could have built a Station
but my head hurt too much to even try.

The base brick should make a good core to build from, and the other parts will be good for accent pieces.

Parts 2.  New Headlight Bricks, 1x1 Double Curved Slope,
Plates, Quarter Circle Tiles, Jumper, and Round Tiles.

If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes. (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes. (+5)
Score: +20 (A+).  Some really nice color options here along with useful parts.

 $3.99 for a $0.04 Price per Piece.

Parts.  First row is Printed Tiles.  Second through seventh is Quarter
Circle Tiles (Dark Azure, Light Aqua, and Purple).  Eighth and ninth
are Trans-Pink Round Tiles.  Tenth is a Dark Blue over-molded
Gemstone Tile.  Eleventh is a Pink over-molded Star Round Tile.

Some really neat over-molded pieces in this series.

Review: 41916 Extra Dots - Series 2

This is a supplement for the second series of Dots line.

Bag.  I paid $3.99, for a $0.04 Price per Piece.
(Actually, this was a gift from a friend of mine.)

1x1 Round Tiles.  Third row is Opalescent 1x1 Round Tiles.
The rows after that are Quarter Circle Tiles in Light Azure,

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  No.  (-5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Below.  (+5)  (The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +10 (A-).  More useful accent pieces in interesting colors.

Review: 30556 Dots Mini Frame Polybag

This was found in Walmart in a midway display with other polybags and other impulse Christmas toy selections.  Thanks to Atavism for bringing it to my attention on the Discord server.  I'm not sure if there are any left due to the great Lego scouring of 2020.

Bag.  MSRP is $4.97, for a $0.06 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts 1.  Plates, Inverted Slopes, Rocker Plates (Star
Wars Shields), Bricks, and Quarter Round Tiles.

Parts 2.  Studless Slopes, Clip Plates, Round Tiles, and Quarter Round Tiles.

Build.  A bare-bones mech.  I may have
to explore this design a bit more.

Wow!  I never would have expected a score like this from a set like this.

Tiles, Bricks, 2x1x1.6 Bricks
w/4 Studs on Side, and the
new Picture Holder Bricks.

Parts 8.  White Bricks, Light
Bley Tiles, Aqua Plates.

Container.  I figured a better look at this was called for
as it might be good for transporting a small squad.

Build.  A boxy Frame and
a 2 Hit (to destroy) wall.

This one might be stretching it a bit.  I really like all the parts, I just wish there had been a fourth Picture Holder Brick.
