Some fine mecha for your Monday morning.

Talos02 by dryvval.  The legs on this are really
slick.  I'm not sure how big it might be though.

Bug Invasion by AC Pin.  These look to be about minifig size -- since

they use some minifig parts -- which would put them at 4P scale.

Prototype by Dead Frog Inc.  This one looks very fiddly.  There
are some interesting parts choices and techniques though.

Mechanical Spider by David Steeves.  Wow.

Doodle by Drew.  It could be a little fragile but, it has a great look about it.

Purity: 30690 Transformers Prowl Review

Let's wrap up Kre-O Transformers week with the last, and largest, of the sets I picked up at the Boston Comic-Con.

Box.  MSRP is $16.99 for a $0.10 Price per Piece.  I paid the sticker price.

Parts 1.  Kre-O Ball Joints, Plates, Brackets, Slopes, a single Grille Tile, the funky Head and Mount, and Giant Fists that are similar to Bionicle Fists but have more attachment points.

Parts 2.  Nothing remarkable here, just Plates, Tiles, Bricks, and a handful of Slopes.

Parts 3.  Now things get interesting.  Nine 1x4 Hinge Plates in two colors. funky Brick + Round Brick SNOT pieces, Dual Wheel Arches, Slopes -- inverted & normal, a sprue with Kreon Weapons and Accessories, Tiles, Plates, Wheels, rubber Tires, Axles, Brackets, a couple of 2/3 Bricks, some SNOT Bricks, and the very interesting Bar w/ Double Female Connector.

Build.  Yeah, I know, it's horrible.  Yesterday was crappy and I wasn't feeling very creative.

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  At.  (0) (The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes.  (+5)

Score: +15 (A).  Another decent score for a Kre-O Transformers set.

Purity: 31146 Transformers Jazz Review

I picked this up two weekends ago at the Boston Comic-Con.

Box.  MSRP was $11.99 for a $0.10 Price per Piece.  I paid $10 despite the $15 sticker.

Kreons.  The printing on the

fleshie face isn't that great.

Parts 1.  We've got the Kre-O Ball Joints, some 1x2 Bar Plates,
some Doors, some Slopes, some Brackets, the Head and
the mount for it and a brick without the word "Kre-O" on it.

Parts 2.  Lots of Plates.  The silver color is nice as are actual rubber Wheels are nice too.  The one piece Dual Wheel Arches are interesting.  I always like the two part Steering Wheel.  A Kreon Seat, 1x4 Hinge Plates, some Tiles, and those funky Kre-O Hinges in the upper right corner round it out.

Build.  Two Frigate hulls.  No attachments but there
are plenty of leftover pieces to construct them with.

The Questions:

Purity: 31143 Transformers Optimus Prime

I picked this up two weekends ago at the Boston Comic-Con.  I visited every toy dealer's table and managed to find this and two others that I hadn't reviewed yet.

Box.  It's marked $15 but I only paid $10.  MSRP was $7.99 for a $0.09 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Stickers.

Parts 1.  We have four male and four female sections of Kre-O's version of the Mixel ball joint, the Optimus head and weird neck joint, plus the Grille Tiles.  Everything else is pretty standard.

Parts 2.  A number of Wheels and the Axles they mount on.  Plenty of Plates, some Slopes, a handful of 1x4 Hinge Plates, a couple of those funky brick + round brick SNOT pieces, and a handful of Wheel hubs.

Build.  I managed a quick Frame out of this.  I may try for an IO build later.  Stats: 2Rd+d8 (shoulder cannons) 2Rh (fists) 1B (heavy construction) 2W.

Lego Ideas 5

Another batch of Ideas for you to ruminate over.

Mini Firetruck by LegoDragon213.  This has 4P people, but I think it's a little large for that scale.  Other than that it should make for good terrain.

Emissary by Legofire772.  A sci-fi battlesuit made with an abundance of Mixel joints.

Microscale Jurrasic Park by Senteosan.  I'm not normally a fan of IP tie-ins, but this could make some fun terrain for our mecha to stomp through.

Flying Mobile Frame Zero by DrJ29014.  It's a set of Chubs.  Get behind this people!

Minifig.

Parts.  Not really a lot here.  Some Plates, Brackets, Modified Plates, Slopes, Headlight Bricks, new Clip Tiles, Vertical Clip Brick, Wheels, an Antenna, a Minifig Steering Wheel, and a 2x4 Vehicle Spoiler w/Handle.  the last item should make a good hand-held shield for a frame.

Build.  The set build can be converted into a halfway
decent IO Frigate.  Stats: 2Ra/1B/1Y/2W/1Gd8
