Review: 30452 Iron Man & Dum-E Polybag

I was out at Walmart last night and found this along with other new Avengers sets.  Since it's mainly a minifig set I'm going to try something a little different with this review.

Bag.  I paid $3.97 for this which gives a $0.11 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Minifig.

Parts.  Plates, Round Plates, Bar Plates, Clip Plate, Liftarms, Pins, Grille Tiles, Round Tiles, Flame Pieces,  Minifig Neck Brackets, Cheese Grater, Lightsaber Handle, Bar Holder w/Claw, Mod. Plate w/Pin Hole, Dish, and Bar 12L w/1x2 Plate End Hollow Studs &  1x1 Round Plate.

Assembled Minifig.  I'd go with a Brawler

archetype.  There are plenty of extra pieces to modify this though.

Size Comparison.

The Questions:
Is it below, at, or above $10 per Frame?  Below.  (+5)
Is it a good size to use in a game?  Yes.  About the same size as a Classic.  (+5)
How many parts does it have to represent systems?  Four.  (+5)
Does it have enough parts you can remove to represent White Dice damage?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +20 (A+).  Excellent score as a minifig.


Build.  I copped out and went with the set build.  (2Rh)

Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Above.  (-10)  (The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)

Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  No.  (-5)
Score: -5 (B-).  Not a great score as a set.

Mobile Frame Zero: Dog Fight

Long time member of the community, Vitor Faria has been working on a spin-off game from Rapid Attack called Dog Fight.  He feels like it's finally ready to be released to the public for testing.  The Version 0.03 pdf is here.  He's also running a Challenge on the Hangar, to design fighters and lore for this spin-off.

With the demise of Google+, the community that was there has scattered to the winds.  Other options are available, we'll just have to see if they're as good as the G+ group was.

Pax East 2019

I had the chance this year to attend PAX East as an attendee rather than a worker or vendor.  My apologies to anyone who was looking for me as a vendor, things didn't work out that way for me this year.  That being said, I did take pictures from my wanderings around the con.

My haul.

Honestly, I'd rather have been working.  PAX East is just too
big, too chaotic, and too busy to be enjoyable.  I'd rather be
talking to people and repping MFZ than fighting my way
through crowds for an event of which 2/3 I don't care about.
Next up for me is Armour Con.

Review: 71343 Dimensions Powerpuff Girls Fun Pack

I picked this up when TRU was going through its death throes.  As you can see I did not pay full price.

Box.  MSRP was $14.99 for a $0.27 Price per Piece.

Instructions.  This didn't have
any actual instructions.

Minifig.  Another giant head!

Parts.  Dimensions Bases, Brackets, Plates,
Round Plates, Apollo Studs, Slopes, Modified
Bricks, Round Bricks, and Technic bits.

Build.  I built the mech from the package but it doesn't quite match up to the pictures.  It also feels like there are parts missing but the count comes up right.

The Questions:

Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)
