Ready2Robot Survivor Battle Pack

We're looking at another non-Building Block item to see if it can be used for MF0: Rapid Attack.    Ready 2 Robot is a blind buy collectible mecha designed with mix and match parts.  Sounds right up our alley, doesn't it?

Box.  I paid $7.99 at TJ Maxx.  MSRP was $19.99.

Inside of Box.

Actual contents of box.

Instructions.

Data Sheet.

Parts 1.  Rocket pod,
doesn't actually fire.

Parts 2.  The fully assembled one.

Back arms for Melee, front arms for Direct Fire, Artillery,
Defense, or Spotting.

Parts 3.  Instead of individual
pictures this time around, here's
the contents of the second
container all at once.

Right arm could be Melee, left arm could be Direct Fire, Defense,
or Spotting, the pods could be Direct Fire, Artillery, or Spotting.

Assembled mech with pilot.

Size Comparison.

The Questions:
Is it below, at, or above $10 per Frame?  At.  (0)

Is it a good size to use in a game?  Maybe?  Roughly the same size as a Chub.  (+5)
How many parts does it have to represent systems?  Four.  (+5)
Does it have enough parts you can remove to represent White Dice damage?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +15 (A).  Again, it looks cool but half of it's a blind box so you can't easily build a squad.

Ready2Robot Blind Box Review

Once again we look at a non-Building Block item to see if it can be used for MF0: Rapid Attack.  I could have sworn Dark Cloud Blogs had already reviewed these.  I vaguely remember talking about them at some point.  Ready 2 Robot is a blind buy collectible mecha designed with mix and match parts.  Sounds right up our alley, doesn't it?  I took a lot of pictures because there were a bunch of little packages tucked inside the main box.

Box.  I paid $4.99 at TJ Maxx.  (I saw them on Clearance at Target for $2 several months ago.)  MSRP was $9.99.

Instructions.

Data Sheet.

Box, without wrappers.

Parts 1.  Leg.

Parts 2.  Body.

Parts 3.  Leg.

Parts 4.  Arm or Melee attachment.

Parts 5.  Arm or Melee attachment.

Parts 6.  Direct Fire, Artillery,
or Spotting attachment.

Parts 7.  Defense, Movement,
or Spotting attachment.

Parts 8.  Pilot container.  The instructions on the
package for removing this from the box were
crap.  Check the instruction sheet first.

Pilot, decanted.  I put a paper towel down just
in case the slime was more liquid than gel.

Box, disassembled.

Assembled mech.

Assembled mech with pilot.

Posed on box.

Review: 75125 Star Wars Microfighter Series 3 Resistance X-Wing Fighter

I needed the nose cone piece -- from this one too -- to finish out a squad I'm working on, so I dug this out of my backlog pile.

Box.  MSRP was $9.99 for a $0.12 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Minifig.

Parts 1.  Plates, Wedge Plates, Brackets, Curved
Top Bricks, Bar Plates, Clip Plates, Plates w/Pin
Hole, Slopes, Technic Pins w/Bar Extension.

Parts 2.  Plates, Grille Tiles, Jumpers, Slopes, Technic Axle
Pins, Clip Plates, Cones, Round Tiles, Tile, and Minifig Gun.

Build.  Another 2Rd+d8/2Rh+d8 Frame.

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Above.  (-10)
(The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +5 (B+).  The lower parts count has a big effect on the score, despite being similar to the Series 1 X-Wing.

Mobile Frame Zero, Social Media, and You (Redux)

Back in 2015 I wrote a post about the four major places where MFZ is discussed.  The landscape has changed slightly, so let's take another look.

MFZ Flickr Group -- Do you like looking at pictures of cool mecha made of Lego? Yes? Then you should be a member. It's been around since the game was called Mechaton and has over 10,000 photos from the community. It has plenty of amazing constructions to gawk at and ideas to mine.

MFZ Facebook Group -- This is actual social media and is probably the quickest way to get whatever you want to talk about, you want to show off, or question you need answered in front of the most eyes. It also has an attention span measured in milliseconds so don't expect any long term discussions or results from here.

MFZ Discord Channel -- Want to have a discussion with other MoF0s?  Need an answer on a MF0 question?  Just feel like chatting?  This is the place for you.

Mobile Frame Hangar Forums -- For any matters needing long term discussion, this is the place you need to be. Comments and constructive criticism on your builds, a place to find other players, official background, and long and short-form fan fiction are just some of the things you will find on the Hangar.

These are the places were the strongest voices can be found.  We are a welcoming community, come and add your voice to the chorus.

Armour Con 2019 Pictures, Part 2

All of these pictures are from day 2, some of them from my phone, some from my camera.  Most of them are of the tournament game, some of them of the spare table, and one thing I saw that looked neat.  No battle report from this game as I wasn't at the table the entire time.

Pictures of the spare table.

I saw this on another table and thought it looked cool.
