Review: Gundam Converge RX-78-02 White Gundam (311)

It's been a while since I've done a Gundam Converge review, and I have a bit of a backlog when it comes to them, so let's take a look at one.  This figure is from the 28th release, dating to November 2025, according to Gundanium Gateway.

Box. I paid $10.99 at Miniso for this.

Parts.

Disassembled.  The head can be Defense or Spotting.  The gun could be
Direct Fire or Spotting.  The shield could be Defense.  The backpack
could be Movement.  The beam saber handles (white sprue) could
be Spotting.  The arms could be removed for White Die damage.

Assembled.

The Pegs (black sprue) could
be something but they block
the shield from mounting.

The Questions:
Is it below, at, or above $10 per Frame?  Above. (-10)
Is it a good size to use in a game?   Yes.  About the size of a Chub. (+5)
How many parts does it have to represent systems?  Five. (+5)
Does it have enough parts you can remove to represent White Dice damage?  Yes. (+5)
Score: +5 (B+). A Soldier right out of the box, good enough for me.

Review: Gundam Converge RX-78-2

I discovered these back before Christmas at my local Miniso store.  They got them back in stock so I figured I'd review one of the ones I missed on the prior run.  This line, according to Gundanium Gateway, is from September 2024.  It was a special summertime release called the "Movie Visual Selection" and doesn't seem to feature box numbers.  Apparently they are all recolors so this release will allow you to field a second version of a figure you might already have.

Box.  I paid $10.99 at Miniso for this.

Parts.

Disassembled.  The head can be Defense or Spotting.  The gun could be Direct Fire or Spotting.  The bazooka could be Direct Fire or Artillery.  The shield
could be Defense.  The arms could be removed for White Die damage.

Assembled.

Apparently there's a spot under the backpack to mount the bazooka
but, it also fits into the secondary shield mounting point.

The Questions:
Is it below, at, or above $10 per Frame?  Above.  (-10)
Is it a good size to use in a game?  Yes.  About the size of a Classic.  (+5)
How many parts does it have to represent systems?  Four.  (+5)
Does it have enough parts you can remove to represent White Dice damage?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +5 (B+).  You can't field it as a Soldier archetype right out of the box but a Delegator archetype (2Ra/1B/2Y) is a very useful option.

Review: Gundam Converge RGC-80 GM Cannon [Red Head] {Immortal 4th Platoon} (302)

After a week of Zeon Gundam Converge reviews I feel the need to tilt things back the other way.  According to Gundanium Gateway, these were released in November of 2024.

Box.  I paid $11.99 at Newbury Comics for this.

Parts.

Disassembled.  The head could be Defense or Spotting, The backpack
could be Defense or Movement.  The shield could be Defense.  The gun
could  be Melee, Direct Fire, or Spotting.  The cannon could be Direct Fire,
Artillery, or Spotting.  The arms could be removed for White Die damage.

Assembled.

I managed to get the antenna in correctly this time.

The Questions:
Is it below, at, or above $10 per Frame?  Above.  (-10)
Is it a good size to use in a game?  Yes.  About the size of a Classic.  (+5)
How many parts does it have to represent systems?  Two.  (0)
Does it have enough parts you can remove to represent White Dice damage?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: 0 (B). This has the same advantages as Wednesday's review along with being a recolored design which allows you to field two duplicate GC figures on the table at the same time.

could  be Melee, Direct Fire, or Spotting.  The cannon could be Direct Fire,
Artillery, or Spotting.  The arms could be removed for White Die damage.

Assembled.  I know I put the antenna in upside-down
but they didn't look like they would fit any other way.

Size Comparison.

The Questions:
Is it below, at, or above $10 per Frame?  Above.  (-10)
Is it a good size to use in a game?  Yes.  About the size of a Classic.  (+5)
How many parts does it have to represent systems?  Five.  (+5)
Does it have enough parts you can remove to represent White Dice damage?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +5 (B+). It might be one of the more generic looking models but you can kit it up as a Soldier right out of the package -- along with multiple other Archetypes -- and if you find it for cheaper than I did the score will definitely improve.

Review: Gundam Converge MVF-X08 Eclipse Gundam (300)

After a week of Zeon Gundam Converge reviews I feel the need to tilt things back the other way.  According to Gundanium Gateway, these were released in November of 2024.  This release also features the 300th figure of this product line.

Box.  I paid $11.99 at Newbury Comics for this.

Parts.

Disassembled.  The vanes could be Spotting, but I wouldn't want to remove
them. The head could be Defense or Spotting.  The rifles could be Direct Fire,
Artillery, or Spotting.  The arms could be removed for White Die damage.  The
extra hands have openings to hold the rifles as the regular ones are solid.

Assembled.

Does it have enough parts you can remove to represent White Dice damage?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: 0 (B). I had hopes for this one but it just feels kinda bland.

Review: Gundam Converge MSM-07S Z'Gok (Char's Custom)

I discovered these back before Christmas at my local Miniso store.

The claws could be Melee, or Spotting.  You
could remove one of the arms to represent White Die damage.

Assembled.  If you can't tell by the white dot in the shoulder area, I broke
this model while trying to take it apart.  That's always been a constant
problem with these.  I think I've damaged one before but, the tolerances
can be sloppy from model to model and sometimes bad things happen.

It looks cool but the limited amount of attachments puts a damper on my enthusiasm for this one.

Score: 0 (B).  All melee GC figures are fairly rare.  Especially ones with limited amounts of attachments.

Score: 0 (B).  For only having two available Systems you do have a wide selection.  Other than that it's not great.

Review: Gundam Converge RB-78 Ball Twin Set (296)

This is an interesting set.  It's the first time I've ever seen a "twofer" Gundam Converge kit.  This set is from the
25th wave of sets which was released in May of 2024.

Box.  I paid $10.99 at Newbury Comics for this.

Parts.

Disassembled.  The gun could be Direct, Artillery, or Spotting.  You
could remove one of the mecha to represent White Die damage.

Assembled.

Score: 0 (B).  I thought this could be a good set to represent the "Two to a Plate" Rule but only having two possible Systems makes it a bit weak for that purpose.  Other than that they look pretty neat and it's a good set to use in case you want to mess around with the PpA algorithm.

Review: Gundam Converge STTS-808 Immortal Justice Gundam (286)

One more Gundam to add to the collection.  This set is from the 24th wave of sets which was released in February of 2024.

Box.  I paid $10.99 at Newbury Comics for this.

Parts.

Disassembled.  The head vanes could be Spotting. The head
could be Defense, or Spotting. The lift pack could be Defense, or
Movement.  The rifle could be Direct Fire, or Spotting. The shield
could be Defense.  The arms could be removed for White Die damage.
The little translucent piece is a clip so it can attach to the baseplate.

Assembled.

Size Comparison.
The Questions:
Is it below, at, or above $10 per Frame?  Above.  (-10)
Is it a good size to use in a game?  Yes.  In between a Chub and a Classic.  (+5)
How many parts does it have to represent systems?  Five.  (+5)
Does it have enough parts you can remove to represent White Dice damage?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +5 (B+).  This is a ready to go Soldier archetype right out of the box.  The only thing that would make it better is a cheaper price.
