Review: 41546 Mixels Forx

Here's a rare Saturday post from me to finish out the Weldos tribe.

Bag.  MSRP is $4.99 for a $0.07 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts.  If you get two of these sets you can combine the bottom half of the Boulder piece with the top half in the Mixel Kramm set.  Plenty of Slopes, some Mixel Joints, some Clip Plates, a couple Clip Tiles, both versions of the Headlight Brick, the short Chain is interesting as are the Dark Bley Minifig Bananas.

Build.  Another Frame and a Station.

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Below.  (+5)
(The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +20 (A+).

Review: 41547 Mixels Wuzzo

This brings us to two-thirds of the way through of the Weldos tribe.

Bag.  MSRP is $4.99 for a $0.07 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts.  We have a wide selection of different parts but not a large quantity of and individual part.  The most common item is the 1x1 Round Plate.  As you can see below, I managed to build a couple of things but I was stretching to pad out certain sections in the Frame.

Build.  A Frame and a Station.

Yes.  (+5)

Review: 41545 Mixels Kramm

Let's start the last tribe, the Weldos, of the Series 6 Mixels

Bag.  MSRP is $4.99 for a $0.07 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts.  Some Mixel Joints, some Clip Plates, Bar Plates, 1x2 Technic Bricks, and regular Plates are useful.  A couple of Tooth Plates, Grille Tiles, and a fair amount of Slopes too.  The two Boulder pieces might be good for Terrain.

Build.  I took the easy way out with this one, a Frame and two Stations.

Given the number of parts with an uneven quantity, this set might make a good candidate for the Double Set Challenge.

Review: 41552 Mixels Berp

Here's the final Munchos Tribe review.

Bag.  MSRP is $4.99 for a $0.07 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts.  Plenty of Purple and Black.  Those Cherry pieces are going to be annoying to work with.  The Black Technic, Pin Connector Round w/4 Clips  jumps right out at me.  That will be the hips for a quad frame.  Everything else is fairly standard.

Build.  I went tripod instead of quad despite the piece I used for the hips.  I used the basket as a giant radar dish for 1Y.

Another max score and the set has some interesting parts.

Review: 41551 Mixels Snax

Continuing on with the Munchos Tribe.

Bag.  MSRP is $4.99 for a $0.10 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts.  More Lavender in this set than Purple.  A few Clip Plates, Bar Plates, Slopes, Brackets and Ball Joints.  Other than that, not much in the way of fun stuff.

Build.  I had a little fun with this frame.

The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  At.  (0)

(The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +15 (A).  Not a bad score and the set has some interesting parts.

Review: 41553 Mixels Vaka-Waka

Let's start out the Munchos Tribe of the Series 6 Mixels.

Bag.  MSRP is $4.99 for a $0.07 Price per Piece.

Instructions.

Parts.  Plenty of Slopes and Plates, a few Ball Joints, Brackets, and Bricks, some Grille Tiles, Clip Plates, and Bar Plates, A Large Jumper, a couple of Hinge Bricks, Headlight Bricks, and 1x2 Bricks w/Studs on side.

Build.  This is actually the second build I came up
with for this review.  It's more technically
interesting, but doesn't look as good.

Not a bad set, but I think more of a parts kit.

Review: 41548 Mixel Dribbal

Let's start out the week with a new review.

Bag.  MSRP is $4.99 which is a Price per Piece of $0.10.

Instructions.

Parts.  Not really a lot here.  Several Plates, a few Slopes, a
couple of Brackets, some Mixel Joints, a handful of
Headlight Bricks, a couple of Clip Plates, and some other items.

Build.  Are you really surprised?  :-)  I knew I was going to
build at least one T.U.R.D. Bot when I saw that Double
Inverted Slope w/Cutout in all three of the Glorp Corp. packages.

Not a bad score, but I feel like this may be the best set of this Tribe.
