Purity: Brickforge Review 4

At this point the rating system I set down in the second Brickforge review has become somewhat superfluous as the items I'm reviewing aren't really built for the sizes we use.  Therefore, they're basically greebles.  That being said, sometimes greebles are what sets one build apart from the rest.

Sipping Glass.  This could make a useful muzzle on some sort of a rifle.  It has no problems connecting and fits at both scales.

Rating: A+ (+20)

Gemstone.  It could be used as a greeble or maybe part of a Spotting attachment.  No problems connecting and fits at both scales.

Test Tube.  Possible uses as a greeble, part of a Spotting attachment, or ammunition for a weapon.  Fits both scales and has no problem attaching.

Lens Piece.  These are slightly different from the regular Lego 1x1 Round Tiles, being slightly bigger and rounder.  They're also available in a few different colors than their Lego counterparts.  Fits both scales and has no problem attaching but there has been some sprue flash on some of the pieces.

Rating: A (+15)

Warning Light.  I think this is my favorite piece in this review.  It's great for greebling or color marking.  Combine this with the Flask from the last review and you get a great looking SSR.  Fits both scales and has no problem attaching.

Purity: BrickForge Review 3

This is the point of the review process where things get a little hinky.  In this and the next one we'll start looking at some of the non-weapon pieces you can order.


We'll start with the Cleaver.  As you can see, it's tiny even in the hands of the Classic.  I'm not sure it will work as a weapon but you may be able to use it for some sort of greeble.  Still not sure why I bought this.  It doesn't really fit any scale but doesn't have any problem connecting.

Rating: C+ (-10)

Next is the Energy Meter.  As you can see, it's a copy of the PK Meter from Ghostbusters.  It fits one scale and doesn't have any problem connecting.

Rating: A (+15)







Here we have the Flashlight.  It has a "combat bezel" so the end is a little jagged.  It could function as a Lightsaber handle in a pinch.  It fits both scales and doesn't have any problem connecting.

Rating: A+ (+20)






Flask.  This piece, and the next, might function well as a muzzle on some sort of firearm.  Or possibly a Single Shot Rocket.  Otherwise, beyond being a greeble, I don't see any use for this in MFZ.  Scale doesn't really matter and doesn't have any problem connecting.

Purity: BrickForge Review 2

In this review we'll be looking at some hand to hand weapons from Brickforge.  In the time since the last Brickforge review I've also come up with a new rating system for Third Party Parts.  This is how it works.

This is the Dragon Sword.  It works well at both scales but has a problem fitting into a Clip Tile.

Rating: A- (+10)

The Hero Sword.  There are going to be a lot of edged weapons in this review.  It looks good at both scales and has no problem with Clip Tiles.

The Kukri.  This is one of my all time favorite weapons.  It looks a tiny bit small at 7P scale though.

Rating: A (+15)









Spiked Mace.  Whack, crunch, thump.  It looks good at both scales.

Purity: BrickForge Review 1

This one's going to be hard.  I realize now that my review system breaks down when confronted with an order of individual pieces.  It's made to deal with sets, not parts you hand select.  So, that in mind, I'm going to show you pictures of a bunch of pieces and tell you what I think of them.  We're goin' old school, baby!


First is the Coilgun.  It's a little small and doesn't fit into the Clip Tile all that well due to the angle of the handle.  I think this weapon's a little plain looking.  There may be an overmolded version available in one of the accessory packs.







The Advanced Recon Striker is small and has trouble fitting into the Clip Tile.  This is getting to be a pattern, isn't it?  Otherwise it works as a pistol at 7P and maybe a submachinegun at 4P.

The Anti-Material Sniper is a decent size.  It works as a rifle at 7P and maybe a long rifle at 4P.








This is the Flamespitter.  I really like the looks of this one.  It may be a mite small for 7P scale though.











Lastly we have the Sub-Orbital Machine Gun.  Which I really think should be named the Orbital Submachinegun.  It's too tiny for both scales and doesn't fit well in the Clip Tile.
