Battle Report: Neue Regel 11

This is our seventh game of Rapid Attack, as a group, this year.  We had a new player for this game.  This game basically came together in the last few days before the weekend arrived.  After the "Measuring Hell" of the last game, I  opted to put something simpler and more old-school on the table.

Stevenik (4 Frames & 16 Systems) = (7 Points per Asset) * (6 assets) = 42 points.
   Blue Tank -- 2Rd+d8/2B/2W + SSR.
   Orange Tank -- 2Rd+d8/2B/2W.
   Yellow Watchtower -- 2B/2Y/2W + SSR.
   Green Artillerist -- 2Ra+d8/2B/2W + SSR.

Phungkyjams (5 Frames & 18 Systems) = (4 Points per Asset) * (7 assets) = 28 points.  (Dockhands)
   Red Anvil -- 2Rd+d8/1B/1G/2W.
   Yellow Squad Leader -- 2Rd/1B/2Y/2W + SSR.
   Orange Soldier -- 2Rd/1B/1G/1Y/2W.
   Purple
 Soldier -- 2Rd/1B/1G/1Y/2W.
   Green Mini Watchtower -- 1B/1Gd8/1Y/2W + SSR (x2).

Me (5 Frames & 18 Systems) = (4 Points per Asset) * (7 assets) = 28 points.  (Dreadnauts)
   Lime Soldier -- 2Rd/1B/1G/1Y/2W.
   Blue Soldier -- 2Rd/1B/1G/1Y/2W.
   Yellow Brawler -- 2Rh+d8/2B/1Gd8/2W.
Red Recon by Fire -- 2B/1Gd8/2Y/2W.
   Dark Tan Shield Maiden -- 2B/1Gd8/2W + SSR (x3).

Sweet T (5 Frames & 19 Systems) = (3 Points per Asset) * (7 assets) = 21 points.
   Orange Soldier -- 2Rd/1B/1G/1Y/2W + SSR.
   Blue Soldier -- 2Rd/1B/1G/1Y/2W + SSR.
   Red Soldier -- 2Rd/1B/1G/1Y/2W.
   Green Soldier -- 2Rd/1B/1G/1Y/2W.
Sand Green Silent Soldier -- 2Rd/1B/1G/2W + SSR.

This is what the table looked like at the start of the game.

Thoughts & Observations:
  • This was a Skirmish.
  • We had a new player for this game.
  • We used the Neutral Station rule again.
  • We used the "New 1.3" player count formula from my "Player Count 6" blog post.
  • The difference between Second to Fourth place was very swingy all through the game.
  • I made a rookie blunder at the very end of the game and missed an available Station.
  • This game is the current holder of the "Most Station Captures in a Game" title.

Review: Well Played 35001-04 TMNT Donnie's Lab

I found this at Wegman's recently.  I reviewed some TMNT polybags a few years ago, and 5 Below has carried TMNT themed sets for a while but this is the first real non-Lego set from this IP that I've reviewed.

Box.  I don't remember how much I paid at Wegmans,
but the MSRP is $10.00, for a $0.16 Price per Piece.

Instructions & Stickers.

Minifig.

Parts 1.  Plates, Bricks, Arch, Minifig Seat, Corner Tile, Inverted Slope, Tiles, Slope,
Door Runner Panels, 1x1x3 Brick, Corrugated Panel, and Transparent Macaroni.

Parts 2.  Brackets, Tiles, Plates, Apollo Stud, Transparent
Apollo Studs, Transparent 1L Pin Connector, Slope w/Cutout,
Brick w/Stud on Side, Clip Plates, Cone, Bars, Bar w/Stop,
Pin/Axle, Half Pins, and Transparent Pin Connector.

Build.  Station.
The Questions:
Can you build something -- a frame, station, or starship -- right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?  Above.  (-10)
(The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.)
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?  Yes.  (+5)
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?  Yes.  (+5)
Score: +5 (B+).  Honestly, I bought this just for the Transparent Green pieces.  Otherwise there's not a lot to recommend this set.

Sales Alert

We've got two sales this week.  Target is running 15% off select Lego sets.  I know it states "when purchased online" but I was in a local Target and they had shelf tags with marked down prices.  Barnes & Noble has 25% off select Lego sets.

Good hunting.
