Now both ideas have their difficulties and merits. The first one would penalize players who leave their Stations out on the very edge of the battlefield but having to figure out the points loss for everything that ends up "disappeared" would be annoying. For the second idea, I think it would neat to see Frames squished in between large pieces of terrain as everything compresses but, again, potential points shifting due to moving Stations and Frames would be annoying. In both cases the ever shrinking nature of the battlefield is going to do interesting things to Ranges and Movement and would probably nerf Artillery something fierce.
I haven't really thought much about the possible rules changes and how you'd execute either idea in play. I just figured I'd bring it up as I find it interesting and it might inspire someone else.
Good afternoon! Dorifto here. What if terrain and stations remained stationary, but as the “storm” was rolling towards center, frames in the circle would take an automatic melee hit. ( acid rain, electromagnetic storm, etc)
ReplyDeleteI also would attempt to set up a dart board design in the table, maybe a circle pattern or square pattern that was devided into 12 equal sections. As the doomsday dice counts down, the storm moves into the appropriate zone on the table!
