The Rook Maneuver is when a Primary or Secondary Attacker places one or more of their Stations inside the Defender's Perimeter at the start of the game. See The DMZ and Airfield Ambush 5 for recent examples.
The reasoning behind this is that while you may sacrifice the points for those Stations at the start of the game -- when the Defender captures your Station by placing their last Frame(s) -- you will reclaim them as part of your ongoing attack. It also forces you to follow through and be diligent about your attacks as you're lower in points even more than usual.
I named it after the first person I ever saw use it, so you may know it by a different title.
